Wim Van Hasselt
Trumpet Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra
Wim Van Hasselt is a member of the trumpet section of the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra Amsterdam. He teaches at the Conservatory of Amsterdam and regulary gives recitals and masterclasses at home and abroad (Europe, N-America and Japan).
He’s also an active chamber musician in different ensembles and has appeared at the festivals of Lucerne, Bad Kissingen and Schleswig Holstein among many others.
Wim Van Hasselt was born in Turnhout, Belgium. He studied at the Hochschule für Musik in Karlsruhe (Germany) with Prof. Reinhold Friedrich and Prof. Dr. Edward H. Tarr (baroque trumpet). He also attended lessons and masterclasses given by Ole Edvard Antonsen, Prof. Klaus Schuhwerk, Markus Stockhausen and Philip Smith.
After taking part in the orchestra academies of the Deutsche Oper Berlin and the State Opera Stuttgart he had a trumpet position with the Radio Symphony Orchestra Berlin, from 2005 to 2009. In addition to the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra he has played with the Berlin Philharmonic, the Mahler Chamber Orchestra and the Lucerne Festival Orchestra.
Recently his first solo CD “On the Road” was released on the Channel Classics label, showing his versatility and feeling for style in an impressive manner. It includes a couple of works that have been composed especially for this CD. The project was awarded the “Prix de Salon” 2010 of the Foundation Donateurs Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra.

Anthony Plog

Anthony Plog began studying music at the age of 10, and by the age of 19 he was playing extra trumpet with the Los Angeles Philharmonic under conductors such as Zubin Mehta, James Levine, Michael Tilson Thomas, and Claudio Abbado, to name a few. His first orchestral position was Principal Trumpet with the San Antonio Symphony from 1970-1973 and was followed by a 2 year stint with the Utah Symphony as Associate Principal. He left the Utah Symphony in 1976 to pursue a solo and composition career, and while living in Los Angeles from 1976-1988 supported himself by playing Principal Trumpet with the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra and the Pacific Symphony and by occasionally playing in the film studios ( Star Trek 1, Gremlins, Rocky 2&3, Altered States, etc. ).
In 1990 he moved to Europe to play Solo Trumpet with the Malmo Symphony in Sweden, and since 1993 has been a Professor at the Staatliche Hochschule fur Musik in Freiburg, Germany. During this time he was co-solo Trumpet with the Basel Symphony in Switzerland for 3 years. He has also toured as co-solo Trumpet with the Stockholm Royal Philharmonic ( Japan 1992 ) and the Buenos Aires Symphony (Germany and Holland 1997).
As a soloist, Anthony Plog has toured throughout the U.S., Europe, Australia, and Japan. He has numerous recordings to his credit, and has recorded solo albums for labels as diverse as BIS, Crystal, Centaur, and Summit. In addition to his solo career, Mr. Plog has made chamber music an important part of his musical life. He is a founding member of the Fine Arts Brass Quintet and the Summit Brass, and has performed with such chamber music organizations as the Chicago Chamber Musicians, Chamber Music Northwest, St. Louis Brass Quintet, etc.
Since being appointed to his first teaching position upon his return to California from the Utah Symphony in 1976, Anthony Plog has taught at various institutions around the world, including California State University at Northridge, the University of Southern California, the Music Academy of the West, the Schola Cantorum (Basel, Switzerland), the Malmo Music Academy (Malmo, Sweden) and the Accademia di Santa Cecilia in Rome.

Martin Griebl
Principal Trumpet Munich Radio Orchestra
Martin Griebl, born in 1987, had his first trumpet lessons at the age of seven. From 2001 to 2006 he studied with Prof. Josef Eidenberger at Anton Bruckner Privatuniversität in Linz, while going to school at Adalbert Stifter Gymnasium Linz. After that he had to do military service in the music corps.
From 2007 to 2011 he did his bachelor at Konservatorium Wien Privatuniversität with Johann Plank. Since 2011 he is doing his master studies at Kons Wien with Prof. Johann Plank and also at Universität Mozarteum Salzburg with Prof. Hans Gansch.
He regularly performs with orchestras like Berlinker Philharmoniker, Deutsche Oper Berlin, Volksoper Wien, RSO Wien, Bühnenorchester der Wiener Staatsoper, Concentus Musicus Wien, Ensemble Reconsil Wien, Klangforum Wien, European Union Youth Orchestra, Tonkünstlerorchester NÖ, Brucknerorchester Linz, etc.
He has been on concert tours to Switzerland, Italy, Hungary, Czech Republic, Germany, Poland, the Netherlands, Sweden, Great Britain, France, Turkey, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and Japan. Since 2011 he is also a member of the Vienna Brass Connection.
In 2011 he was won the trumpet akademist position with Berliner Philharmoniker and continued to play there under conductors such as Sir. Simon Rattle until he was awarded Solo Trumpet in Deutsche Oper Berlin (Contract position) in 2012.
Since January 2013 he is Solo Trumpet in Münchner Rundfunkorchester.

Ryan is currently lead trumpet with The Scottish National Jazz Orchestra and is also a full time member of the highly successful jazz ensemble Brass Jaw.
As a band leader Ryan has won a Parliamentary Jazz Award, a Scottish Jazz Award and a UK Jazz Services Award.
Very active as a composer and arranger, Ryan has written many compositions and arrangements for the Ryan Quigley Big Band and his sextet. He is a very experienced horn section arranger and has also been commissioned to compose for various groups from full orchestras to big bands to brass quintets and more.
