Dani Perpiñán
Dani began his musical education in Valencia with teachers Salvador Tarrasó and Rafael Polanco. After completing his trombone studies at the Conservatorio Superior de Valencia, he moved to London to continue his training at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama with teachers Eric Crees, Simon Wills, Peter Gane and John Kenny. During his time as a student he was part of important orchestras such as the Youth Orchestra of the Mediterranean Countries, the National Youth Orchestra of Spain, the European Union Youth Orchestra and the Gustav Mahler Youth Orchestra.
His professional career began in 2000 when he began working at the Bilbao Symphony Orchestra as solo trombone, a position he held until 2012. Dani has played with most Spanish orchestras as well as with groups such as the Mahler Chamber Orchestra, the Mozart Orchestra and the Lucerne Festival Orchestra. During his career he has had the privilege of working with great masters such as Colin Davis, Bernard Haitink, Pierre Boulez, Kurt Masur, Franz Welser-Möst, Lorin Maazel, Carlo Maria Giulini, Lutz Köler, Marc Minkowski, Daniel Harding and Claudio Abbado.
Dani is a versatile musician who has wanted to explore different musical areas throughout his career. In this sense, he has made recordings with jazz artists, has written his own arrangements and compositions for brass bands, and has a Master's Degree in Musicology. and Musical Education from the Autonomous University of Barcelona. His facet as director of ensembles began in 2004 with the Brass Group of the Higher Music Center of the Basque Country (Musikene) during seven years of teaching. He has continued directing ensembles such as the ESMUC and CSMA Trombone Choir, the Aragon Brass Meeting, the ITF 2015 International Trombone Ensemble, the CSMA Brass Group, the Nineties Trombone Ensemble and the European Brass Collective, resident group of the Austrian festival. His commitment to education has been intense for many years, he has taught generations of successful trombonists and continues to do so. He has worked at the Higher Music Center of the Basque Country (Musikene), the Higher School of Music of Catalonia (Esmuc), the Higher Conservatory of the Liceo de Barcelona and the Brass Academy Alicante. He is currently a professor at the Conservatory of Music of Aragon.
